ZOOM Museum Studio

We love the ZOOM museum. We went again last week, but this time we went to the Art Studio. The Studio is designed like a dragon garden this year, and the kids had a great time making figures out of clay, paint, and plaster.

There is an outdoor garden where the kids can work with clay.

James wasn’t so sure about the clay at first, but once he started working with it he decided to make a bowl of snacks for the Dragon.

One of the museum workers showed the kids how to cut a new block of clay.

This was one of the favorite activities of the day! James was super proud of himself after Oliver helped him cut the clay.

The kids were allowed to make as many items as they wanted for the Dragon, but could also take one small item home with them. Elora made a pretty sculpture of a flower in a vase.

James really liked the paints.

The kids were so excited to take home something they made. I helped Marion make a kitty, Oliver was super excited to make a volcano, Elora asked if she could take home two items – a vase with a tulip and a small painting, and James made a bunny.

Oliver said, “I didn’t think I would like this one more than the ocean exhibit, but I really love it!”

Outside the museum there is a play area that is like an outdoor waterbed covered with grass. The kids had a great time running around on it. Museums Quartier is such a fun place in the summer.
