Fourth of July

Elora and Oliver have been wanting to have a lemonade stand, so last year on the Fourth of July I told them they could have one. Oliver wanted to sell cookies and Elora wanted to sell lemonade.
James is just cute, so here he is 🙂
The kids worked hard making their sign and helping me bake cookies.
James was sleepy but wanted to stay awake and see what the kids were doing.
These two kids are so fun. They love each other so much and were so excited.
Elora spent some time adding up the prices so she would know what it cost if people bought a cookie and lemonade or two cookies or two cookies and a lemonade.
We enjoyed watching the parade in our town. There are always a lot of fun floats.
And best of all is seeing all our friends and having fun together as a community.
The Vietnam Veterans in our community were honored this year.
And of course there was lots of candy.
James was excited to have lollypops for breakfast.

This kid got loaded up with candy at the parade.

There are always races at the park. The older kids love it, but James was not interested until he figured out that they were giving out candy at the end of the race. Then he raced multiple times with multiple age groups.

Here is Elora and Oliver’s Lemonade and Cookies. They had a great time and sold quite a bit of stuff. They were excited that they earned some money that they could use to buy themselves some new toys.

Marion enjoyed the snow cones A LOT.

There was a huge slip and slide set up and Marion spent most of the day there. She just loved the water.

Eventually she figured out how to slide on the slip and slide instead of just running down it.

Elora loves getting her face painted. She was excited that her friend Kamryn could giver her a Harry Potter scar and a butterfly. That is an awesome combination.

Elora brought sprinkles so she could decorate the sugar cookies we made. We bought cute bee and beehive cookie cutters from my friend Melanie and the kids were super excited to make cookies with them.

James was happy because he stole Marion’s hot dog when she wasn’t looking…

There is a cute little train that was built for our town this year. The kids rode on it most of the afternoon. I love the people in our town who work hard making our Fourth of July a fun day for everyone! There is always a town dinner, but I didn’t take any pictures because this year it RAINED. A LOT. So we all huddled in the town hall to eat. We were grateful for the rain, so no complaints about that!
