Girl Scouts

Here are some fun photos of our cute Girl Scouts last summer working on different projects. I never intended to be a Girl Scout leader, but I am so glad that circumstances brought me to this unexpected experience. The girls are so fun and I am grateful to be their leader and be able to spend time with them all.

We sanded and painted a bench and flower box on Main Street. This was a fun project the girls came up with when we were learning about girls making a difference in their community.

Afterwards we made ice cream in a bag. It took some team work to get the ice cream frozen!

We went on some fun hikes over the summer. Here are the girls in Zion National Park. We just went on a short hike to the petroglyphs, but then decided to explore the rest of that canyon.

We made it to the petroglyphs. They are thought to be over 1,000 years old.

We hiked down to the end of the canyon, where there were some really spectacular straight, high canyon walls.

The girls stopped in the tunnel for shade and a snack.

Elora loves Girl Scouts more than anything and wants to be a Girl Scout leader some day.

We also went on a hike in Spring Hollow. Since it is near our friend Hazel’s house, she acted as our tour guide.

We finally found our way down into the wash!

Spring Hollow is a beautiful hike in the morning with the light shining through all the trees.

Here is the end of the wash. There is a way to climb up to the top, but we decided to rest here and have snacks before hiking back.

The girls climbed around and checked out all the names carved on the walls.

I really love this place. I have only been a couple of times, but it is really beautiful and peaceful. It is also nice and cool at the end of the trail in the morning and I am glad we could come with the girls.
