Herding Kids and Kittens

Our cat Scamper had kittens, which we didn’t know about until Oliver discovered them in our garage! Luckily they were pretty young, so they became very friendly little cats. We made the kids give away their sweet kitty babies though, we already have three cats and figured that was enough! This was a little photo shoot we did the week before we gave the kitties away.
We wanted to get a cute picture of all the kids together with the kittens. Obviously from the pictures here you can see that we never got one of everyone together, but it was entertaining trying to herd four kids and four kittens around the yard hoping we would get them all in one place.
Elora is a the animal whisperer. All animals love her, she can catch anything, love anything, and the kitties were no exception. She always wanted to be present when another sibling wanted to hold a kitten to make sure that the kids were treating her baby kitties right. She was as protective as mama cat Scamper!
Oliver on the other hand was actually scared to hold the kittens because he didn’t want to get scratched. He loved looking at them though.
I had to help catch a few kittens who tried to run away, and helped hold one so Marion and James could see it.
Oliver decided he wanted to pet a kitten, but still not hold one.
Marion LOVES cats, so she was always excited to hold the kittens. She is not quite as careful as Elora though, so the cats don’t love her quite as much. But I loved this one, she looks so peaceful holding her little kitty.
Hey look! Four kids and four kittens! The photo shoot didn’t go quite as we planned, but we had a great time playing with the kitties.
