Town Clean-up Day

I took the kids with me to help at the town clean-up day. Oliver doesn’t like to weed AT ALL, but I convinced him that it was important to help. He also liked using the weeding tool.
He was SO proud of himself after pulling this big weed.
Marion loves to help outside. She would move our weed piles and try to pull weeds and then she picked flowers for me while I worked.
James loves shovels, so he thought this was a pretty cool family outing.
James spent a lot of time checking out all the different weeding tools. He also looked super handsome in his new hat!
Marion helped throw the weeds in our HUGE weed pile.
Elora loves to weed and I was so impressed that she worked really hard for a few hours to get the weeds at the park taken care of. Every time the other kids would go take a break she would find a new spot to pull weeds.
The Apple Festival that I help put on every year raised enough money to buy some new playground equipment for the town park. I was SUPER excited to see the people in the town come out and help put it all together and help beautify the town. As soon as the new slide was put together the kids all started to try it out.
The little kids were so excited. They are too small to go on the big slides we already had at the park, so it was exciting for them to have something just their size to play on.
We had to kick them off the new equipment when it was time to cement it into the ground, so they headed over to the big slide with their friend Warren. Warren was excited because he was the FIRST kid to slide on the new slide. That is a good piece of Glendale town history for him to remember.
The kids played while watching all the fun vehicles come in to help lift the equipment get it put into place. It was one of the most exciting events at the park we have ever seen. Small town entertainment at its finest. I love town clean up day because I love watching neighbors all work together to make our town a better place. It’s days like this that make me love my town.
