Earth Day Festival and New Bakery!

Elora got to perform at the Earth Day Festival in Kanab this year. We got there a little early and started a scavenger hunt that the kids could finish to earn a prize. Oliver got to meet Smokey the Bear! He was the only kid brave enough to go meet him.
Elora looks mad, but she assured me she had a great time dancing. She just looks mad when she is nervous!
James clapped A LOT for Elora when she came down off the stage. It was really sweet. He was so excited to watch all the dancing.
Then we headed to Honey’s Grocery Store where the kids got to ride the carousel. James likes it when Elora is there because then I let him ride with her!
Oliver might be the biggest fan of the carousel though. He always waves to me every time he comes around.
The next day we woke up to four inches of snow on the ground! This is a picture of my poor tulips after most of the snow had melted. I went out while it was snowing a ton and cut some tulips to put in a vase. Chris had been telling me all week to put some in a vase and I finally did it to make sure I could enjoy them a little longer in case they all died in the storm.
Elora went out after the snow melted and played in the mud. She wanted me to take a picture of her Mud Mickey.
That afternoon was the grand opening of the new German bakery in Orderville. I have been eagerly awaiting the opening, so I took all the kids and braved the crowds. And there was a huge crowd! There were tons of free samples of breads, pastries, and sandwiches, along with drinks for everyone.
The kids LOVED the bread. The owner said, “See? Kids just naturally know what is good!”
Here is my free pastry sampler plate, along with an extra pastry I bought. The kids didn’t like that kind as much so I got to eat it all myself!
Then Oliver decided to take pics of everyone for me. As you can see, Elora was having a great time.
We bought a few breads and pastries to go and the kids were so happy about the new bakery that we went back on Monday to try a few more items. It is a bit pricey, so we won’t be going often, but it is really yummy and I am so excited to have such a yummy bakery near my house!
