What We Do – March Edition

Oliver got a little candy maze kit for his birthday from his friend Warren and was so excited to put it together. He helped use the hammer and the glue and everything.
Finished! Complete with candy. We tried skittles but they kept getting smooshed. Oliver thought it was funny to eat the smooshed ones. We finally got jelly bellies which are the perfect size for it, but then Oliver and Marion hid in his room and ate them all! I’m not sure why I didn’t expect that to happen!
March was Girl Scout delivery and cookie booth sale time. Elora loved it! And she was so sad when the cookies were all sold and she was finished selling for the year. Her troop sold over 1,000 boxes, I can’t believe it! That is a lot of cookies! That means the girls earned about $400 for their troop. Great job girls!
I had this bucket in the kitchen while I unpacked it and James decided it is his favorite new toy. We often find James E Boo-In-The-Box!
James also loves the potato drawer. I finally got the hardware on my cabinets. It is beautiful, but also makes it easier for the baby to open everything. One day he was sitting in the drawer and decided to throw potatoes at Elora. She made a valiant effort to catch them.
Who needs toys? A drawer and some potatoes makes for one happy James E Boo.
These kids love legos. One day they pulled out all the duplos and they all just sat at the table building. So fun to see their creations. Oliver informed us that he is a master builder because he builds cool creations.
Every week we go to the library in Kanab while Elora takes dance. All the kids LOVE the library and we get to read lots of fun new books.
James loves to color. We have never had a kid this young who liked coloring. It is so fun to watch him as he concentrates on making pictures.
Here is James eating his first ice cream cone. He really did not get the concept of licking it. He kept sticking his fingers in the ice cream and then licking them.
When I went to my town board meeting in March I came home and Chris showed me this picture. Marion had gone into her room to play while Chris read stories to the other kids and he found her sleeping in the box that she uses as her “kitty house”. Funny girl. I especially like that she has her kitty, a pan, a ball, and various other toys in there with her. Because one always needs a pan while sleeping.
The other day while Marion and Oliver unloaded the dishwasher they got an unexpected helper! Little James decided he wanted to help put the forks away.
This stool makes life quite interesting as James moves it around the house to get to the things he wants – the fruit bowl, the toaster, the counter where I make bread… This kid is trouble! But we love him anyway. Who wouldn’t love that adorable smile?
