Elora’ Buffalo Birthday Dinner

Chris was out of town on Elora’s birthday so we didn’t have her party, but I still wanted it to be a special day. We were going to go hiking, but it was COLD. So I asked her where she wanted to go out to dinner and she chose the buffalo restaurant. A bit pricey, but tasty and beautiful scenery. Good choice!

Grandma made Elora a blanket that is the perfect size for car trips. Pink, of course.

Grandma and Grandpa also got Elora a kit with three different science experiments. She is SO excited to try them all out.

James just Vrrrrroooommmmed his motorcycle the whole time.

While we waited for our food we went outside to check out the animals. There were miniature ponies out and the kids got to go inside their pen and pet them. They also chased some chickens, saw a buffalo running full speed, and of course, roped the fake cow. This is always the best part of the day when we come here. Elora’s getting to be pretty handy with a lasso.

Elora, you caught a cow!

It was really cold, but the kids were so excited to play around with the rope and see the animals. It was a fun evening.

We headed back home, but not before Grandma and Grandpa gave us some brownies to take home. We put some candles in Elora’s piece. The kids were excited to sing to her. James is starting to figure out this birthday thing and smiles when he hears the singing (or is it when he sees the fire? He really likes the fire).

These two kidlets are so sweet. They really are great friends.

And this sweet baby was excited to say cheese for the camera. What a cutie. Happy Birthday Elora! Elora is our sweetheart. She always wants to be helpful, enjoys being the mother hen to all her smaller siblings, especially loves to play with James, loves the outdoors, loves exploring, loves to weed (???), loves dancing, likes to sing along to Frozen (when no one is watching), if she isn’t outside she is definitely curled up with a book somewhere, thinks she is shy but will talk to anyone if she is selling Girl Scout cookies, loves flowers, skiing, snow, and is our resident animal whisperer. She can pet our unfriendly cat who won’t let anyone else near him, catch butterflies, grasshoppers, lizards, and flies (yes, flies), and won’t hurt a fly! We love this kind-hearted little girl. She is growing up so fast!
