Brian Head Snow Fort

We went up to Brian Head for a quick ski and play in the snow day. We haven’t had much time for skiing this year with Chris’ work schedule and the kids’ being sick a lot. We bought an igloo brick maker, so we decided to try it out. James likes the snow only when he is eating it.
The fort wall looked better before the snowball fight, but here are the ruins of the fort with Oliver poking his little face through the window. James thought it was hilarious to see Oliver’s face in the middle of a bunch of snow.
There is a nice bunch of trees we built the fort around. James and Marion hung out in the little fort/tree area and Marion very kindly fed James some snow.
Another snowball from Marion. Funny baby.
When Marion stopped feeding him, James laid on his belly and stuck his face on the snow to eat it.
Daddy and the kids decided to build a new fort (and secretly stock it with snowballs to throw at me).
The snow was perfect for brick making and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the brickmaker worked. I think Utah snow is usually too powdery, but this snow was just wet enough to make a great snow fort.
And great snowballs that started being chucked at my head as I took pictures.
Lots of snowballs, a wet back, cold head, and a few good shots of my own later we headed inside for hot chocolate and a warm bath! I love going to Brian Head with the kids, they are so excited to spend time at their “an apartment”. Marion is getting better at skiing every day and can make a few turns on her own now, and the kids love skiing with Daddy in between business trips.
