Elora’s December Dance Recital

Elora had a dance recital in December and she was super excited. Here she is with her hair tied up the night before so it would be curly. She thought she would look funny with the scarf around her hair, but then she looked in the mirror and said, “Oh! I look cute!”

Here we are putting on stage make-up right before the recital. I think she was most excited about getting to wear make-up for the first time.

The recital was at the Crescent Moon Theater in Kanab. Marion and James had a great time playing on the theater seats before the recital started. Elora didn’t dance until later in the recital, so we were just glad that the little ones stayed happy the whole time.

Elora is terrified of being in front of people. This is her “I should be smiling, but I am too scared” face. We think it is adorable.

We knew she was really scared, but Elora remembered her whole dance and performed better than she ever has. We were really proud of her for doing something that is not easy for her. We told her she didn’t have to perform in the recitals if she didn’t want to, but she saw her beautiful costume and said she wanted to do it.

Looking at these pictures I just suddenly realized how grown up Elora is getting. We love this little girl, she is so sweet. It is fun to watch her grow and try new things. She is braver than she thinks, and one day she will realize it!

Here was the best smile of the night, right near the end!

Here is one excited little dancer after her performance. She was pleased with how she danced, and that is the most important thing. She is even talking about how excited she is for her Spring Recital. She has come a long ways since her first dance performance! She loves to dance and we are so excited for her as she learns and grows.  We love you Elora, you did great!
