Brian Head Sledding

Cousin Jessie and Grandma and Grandpa came up to Brian Head to go sledding. There was a lot of nice snow in the back of our condo and we of course built an awesome sled run. It is so great this year now that the kids enjoy walking up and down the hill.

David gave us an innertube when he came for Thanksgiving and it is fast becoming the favorite way to sled down the hill.

We broke two sleds – guess we had a few too many jumps in the sled run! But the sleds last most of the day. It was pretty cold outside, but we all got bundled up and had a great time outside. Beautiful blue skies and lots of powdery snow!

Here comes Jessie!

She doesn’t get much snow in California, so she seemed pretty pleased with all the sledding.

Here comes Mom! I may have been the one who broke one of the sleds… but we did build a really awesome run.

Oliver is our die hard snow boy. He will stay outside and sled and ski and play ALL DAY. We have to convince him to come inside to eat. He found a nice area of trees that he decided would make a nice snow fort so he split his time between sledding and playing in the fort.

There is our condo. We live on the top floor and Chris really enjoys shoveling snow off the fire escape.

This is my favorite picture of the day – Chris in his Cowboy-Up pose.

Chris decided to go headfirst down the run and then all the kids thought that looked like a  great idea. But we told them there would be no crying if they chose to go head first and got snow in their face (luckily no one got snow in their face, because no matter what the kids say I am pretty sure they would have cried).

I love these kids! We had so much fun.

We were supposed to head home the next day and instead got caught in one of the biggest snow storms we have every seen in southern Utah. It was SO COLD and snowed all day. Here is Grandpa all wrapped up to take out the trash, brave man. Actually, we still went sledding in the snow storm, we just figured we shouldn’t drive home.

That night Chris got to snuggle with a whole lot of kids watching Mr. Bean episodes. Such a fun, snowed-in weekend!
