Halloween

Here is Elora with our cute little kittens. She likes to take them into the yard so they can enjoy the sunshine.
James loves cats. He makes cute little noises at them, but he is not always nice, so we were trying to let him pet the kittens without letting him get close enough to pull ears and tails!
We carved our pumpkins outside since it was BEAUTIFUL on Halloween. This pictures sums up Marion’s opinion of touching pumpkin goo. She made me do most of it.
Oliver confiscated the camera and took a few pictures. I finally got Marion to help scoop out a little goo.
We just dumped the goo out on a little hill in our backyard in the hopes that it will spontaneously grow into a pumpkin patch next spring.
More Oliver photography.
Elora thought the goo was really gross, but eventually she got into it and had fun playing with the seeds.
Oliver does not like gross things that much, so he made a lot of awesome faces while scooping out his pumpkin, but eventually he also got used to it and thought it was fun.
James even decided to help. He wouldn’t touch the goo, but he likes spoons so he played with the scoops and spoons. I ended up scooping out and carving most of the pumpkins, so I decided not to bother with the pumpkins we had gotten for me, Chris, and James.
The kids each designed their own. Elora wanted a cute pumpkin, Oliver wanted a scary pumpkin, and Marion wanted an octopus pumpkin (?!?!?).
James is all ready for trick or treating!
On our way out to go trick or treating Marion found a worm and she was quite excited about it. She decided he should come trick or treating with us.
Our first stop was Ila Mae’s house. As always the kids walked right on inside! Marion is actually still holding her worm. The kids love Ila Mae so we took pictures with her.
I love this little octopus. She had such a great time this year. I love it when the kids are old enough to enjoy trick or treating. We always go early so it won’t be cold and dark and luckily our kids get tired pretty quickly so we never end up with that much candy. No pillow cases for our kids, just little bags that I made. James liked the candy, especially licorice. He ate it saying, “mmmmmm” the whole time. One lady in our town made homemade donuts. She told me she made 80 of them and ran out before the night ended. We made sugar cookies and also ran out. Lots of trick or treaters this year!
We ended the night by driving over to Orderville to trick or treat and Grandma and Grandpa’s house. The kids were really excited to see them and play for a little while. We had a very happy and fun Halloween! And yes, Oliver is dressed as the UPS man, and even got to see the real UPS man while trick or treating which was very exciting for him.
