Byodo In Temple and Pali Lookout

We went to the Buddist temple to look around the grounds. Here is the sacred Bon-Sho bell. If you ring it, it is supposed to bring an atmosphere of tranquility for meditation. It is also supposed to cleanse the mind of temptation and bring peace and deep calm.

James liked all the water and crawling around on the grass. The grounds are very beautiful and it is a very peaceful place to come walk around.

We bought some fish food, but Oliver decided to feed this little bird with his.

Here is Elora feeding the Koi fish. They are so big! The kids loved seeing the big fish.

Oliver enjoyed feeding the fish because they would go into a sort of frenzy when the food hit the water. He would drop the food, the fish would “fight” and Oliver would giggle. Repeat. I think he could have done this all day.

There were more fish in this pond who were not being fed as much, so we decided to go feed them too.

Oliver found some great big rocks that he spent some time jumping on. There is the beautiful temple in the background.

We tried to take a nice picture of the kids. This one turned out pretty good…

Next we drove to Pali Lookout to check out the great views. We noticed this sign and Marion was really excited because she loves bumble bees. The crazy part? We actually saw some super fast bumble bees being blown by the wind. Imagine being stung by a bee that is being thrown at you by high wind speed. Ouch!

Me and my monkeys!

Oliver making his “Whoa!!!! This is really high!” face. Funny boy.

Oh, and there is that face again! I love the views from up here.

Daddy and James enjoyed the views too. When we had seen enough and were starting to notice the crazy fast bees we decided to head home! The kids found a stray cat wandering around and really wanted to bring it with us, but luckily it disappeared before we could catch it.
