Advent Wreath

After our anniversary we headed back to Glendale. The kids were starting to feel better, and the kids hadn’t actually opened the Christmas presents that we bought for them yet. So we had a second Christmas Eve.

We lit the last candle on our Advent Wreath – it is an Austrian tradition to light a candle on a wreath every Sunday in the month of December. Normally the last candle will be lit the last Sunday before Christmas, but we were in California.

While we enjoyed the candlelight we ate ice cream and read about Jesus Christ in the scriptures. We have little Christmas ornaments that hang on our tree that have scripture references on them. The kids each got to pick an ornament and we looked up their scripture to read.

I love these kids so much. They love each other so much. I love how our simple traditions are so exciting for them. I love the Christmas season, and the peace and love that come into our home whenever we learn about the Savior. After we blew out the candles, we sent some very excited kids to bed! Time for Christmas morning, take 2!
