James’ Blessing Day

On Thanksgiving weekend we decided to bless Baby James since Nana and Grampy were already here visiting. Grandma and Grandpa came up for the day also. The kids were really excited to have lots of grandparents around for this special day! Here are all the kids after church.
We tried for a family photo. This was the best we came up with. I am thinking that we need a new family photo strategy. At least everyone is looking at the camera.
Here is our handsome baby James. He looks so much like Oliver at this age. He is a happy little guy, loves to be held and played with, and I already feel as if he has always been a part of our family. The kids all adore him and are excited to hold him and smile at him. I feel so blessed to have such sweet children.
Grandma and Grandpa with the kids. And look! Grandpa even has his eyes open for the occasion!!! My favorite part is that Marion is trying to hold James’ hand.
And now a picture with Nana and Grampy. These were the last photos we took that day and we had to bribe everyone with gummy bears to even get them to look sort of in the direction of the camera.
After that long photo shoot, the baby and Grandpa were all tuckered out.
When James woke up from his nap, he was one happy fellow and spent awhile chatting with his daddy.
I think he smiles at Chris more than anyone. He loves being held by Daddy.
My handsome guys!
Elora loves all her siblings and loves to give hugs to everyone.
And… Oliver likes to play with swords. But he is still sweet.
Marion got some jewelry from Nana and decided to get all dressed up in her new pretty things!
For those who went to BYU, you are aware that “Cougars don’t cut corners”. Marion’s favorite shirt is her BYU onesie, and when we walked home from church I tried to cut across the grass. She firmly told me NO! and made me walk over to the sidewalk. Marion the Cougar doesn’t cut corners.
This is the dress that I made for Elora after my first visit to Austria. I found a dress like this in Innsbruck, but didn’t want to pay 70 Euro for it. So I took a picture, visited a cute notions shop in Austria where a nice lady helped me pick out the traditional lace and buttons used in this type of dress, and went home to America for fabric to make the dress. I can’t believe that was almost six years ago, and here is my second daughter – who was actually born in Austria – wearing that same dress. Time passes so quickly, and here I am a mother of four. Wow.
