Art Gallery

There is an art gallery a couple towns over called The Bingham Art Gallery which I frequently drive past and have wanted to take the kids to. Finally when my mom was visiting just after James was born, I decided to take Elora and Marion over to the gallery while Oliver was at school, figuring on the first trip it would be easier with less kids to chase. Elora loved all the paintings and got out her crayons so she could draw pictures of her favorite paintings.
She really loved how colorful these mountains were in this painting. The current exhibit is landscape paintings of the west, and there are quite a few lovely paintings. I noticed Elora always prefers those painted in bright colors.
She found a few paintings of flowers she wanted to draw, but then informed me that she didn’t want hers to be exactly the same. She wanted to make her OWN masterpiece.
I love watching this kid draw. She is very meticulous about which colors she wants to use, and she never got bored. In fact, it was quite difficult to get her to leave, as she kept finding new paintings she liked and wanted to draw.
So happy! Elora has informed me that she would like to be an artist when she grows up and would REALLY like to take art classes. I told her just to keep practicing right now, and we will look into classes when she is older (since I have no clue where we would find art classes in our tiny town…)
Elora posing with her favorite painting and holding her beautiful work of art.
She wanted a picture with the whole wall of paintings and then got distracted by the Indian Corn…
As for Marion, she really enjoyed this large chair! Which was a relief because it kept her away from the expensive paintings…
She liked posing for the camera and kept giggling. Such a funny girl!

Elora really likes deer antlers for some reason. She asked me if we could get some, but I explained we had to go hunting and kill a deer to get antlers and that dampened her enthusiasm a little…

Along the staircase were these animal paintings and Elora really enjoyed these as well.

Almost as much as the twisty sticks. She thought those were pretty cool.

We went and got Marion because we knew she would like the animal paintings also. She really loved the pig, sheep, and chicken. Elora has already asked if we can go back again. I am not sure how much the gallery loves having little kids there, but Elora really loves it so I think we will check it out again another day.
