A Day at the Beach

Still back blogging… We went to the beach one day with my sister Sharon and her crew of kids. Elora asks every couple weeks if we can go to the beach, so I am glad I was able to take them one day!
The kids could not contain their excitement about the water and were jumping with joy just looking at the ocean! That’s how I feel when I get to go to the beach too 🙂
Elora and Oliver had the greatest time running in and out of the waves, and took really good care of each other. It was so fun to watch them play, and so hard to get them out of the ocean! They would have stayed all day.
They both fell in at some point during the game, but that didn’t stop them from playing in the water some more. Elora eventually went off to find shells, rocks, and seaweed that washed up on shore while Oliver continued to run back and forth in the waves.
Why is freezing cold water that knocks you down so fun??!!
Marion thought she wanted to go in the water, but after one toe dip she changed her mind and went to play in the sand. She did this the whole time we were at the beach and had a great time.
Here is Marion playing peek-a-boo with me.
Marion makes me laugh. I think she just likes the idea of swimming because she always wants to wear her swimsuit, but she never actually swims while she is wearing it…
We finished out the day by being buried in the sand. Unfortunately we could not find any showers at the beach, so we had a really awesome sandy drive back to Grandma and Grandpa’s house! Ever since our trip to the beach, now Oliver asks every few days to go to the beach, even though we are back in Utah… I guess I’ll have to work on arranging another beach trip for the kids!
