Swimming Lessons

The kids took swimming lessons earlier this summer, and they both did such a great job. Elora is especially proud of herself – she learned to float and swim all by herself this year!
Here she is proudly popping out of the water after swimming all by herself!
She is not afraid of the water at all, and loves to dive right in!
She loves the goggles they have at the pool. I guess it is time to get her some so she can see underwater. Here she is with one of her teachers, Miss Kenzie. She was so excited to go to class every day. I wish swim lessons went on longer during the summer!
The kids all get to swim in the little pool after class. Elora likes to jump off the steps into the water! I can’t believe how big she is, and how well she can swim!
Here is Oliver waiting for class! I wasn’t sure how class would work for him this year. He is TERRIFIED of getting his face wet, although he loves the water…
Here is Miss Kenzie trying to get Oliver to blow bubbles in the water. You cn see how well he puts his face in the water…
Yay! He finally stuck a tiny bit of his face in! This was seriously a huge miracle… every class he tried to talk his teachers out of making him get his face wet.
Here is a fun game called “Chop chop timber!” Which is supposed to get the kids to jump in the water, and then the teacher dunks them in a little. Since Oliver knows how this game goes, he was a little hesitant to jump in…
I thought this was hilarious. The other kids all jumped right in, and it took Oliver forever to decide he wanted to jump!
Look how happy he is once he decided to go for it! Such a funny boy. He loved swim lessons, and he actually would get his head wet in class.
Oliver doesn’t float on his back. I have no idea why, it just freaks him out. This was his last day of class and he still wouldn’t do it!
But he proudly showed me how he could dunk his head under, all by himself! Good job Oliver! He still cried when I got his head wet in the shower… but we are still excited that he loves to swim!
