Kids are Funny

I teach a Mommy and Me Music Class. Here is Oliver and his little friend Jane at Music Class last week. Oliver has made some great new friends in class and he LOVES having the other kids come over to play with the instruments.
These pictures are to chronicle an interesting behavior of Oliver’s. First let me explain that Oliver does not like being messy. He avoids all foods with sauce, and gets upset if his hands are dirty. I had him help me load the dishwasher once and as I handed him a dirty dish, he stopped and said, “Not that one. It’s dirty.” So I could only give him dishes that were perfectly rinsed to load. But then there is Oliver and yogurt. He always starts out eating it normal, and then it turns into this… He dumps in on his hand with the spoon.
And licks his hand.
And eventually just starts eating it with his hands. Really? He won’t eat anything messy, but he will eat yogurt with his hands. Maybe one day I will actually understand this child. But I am not holding my breath…
This is the kids the day we went to pick up Chris from his business trip to Florida. They were quite excited for Daddy to come home. And Oliver was quite excited to pick out his own outfit. He loves this skeleton shirt he got from his cousin. And he loves his hat. And I made that shirt for Elora as a dress. When she was two. And she still won’t let me pack it up. It makes a cute shirt though, so I don’t mind.
Elora and Oliver dancing away in the outfits Daddy bought them in Florida.
Marion excitedly holding Mickey that she got from Daddy. She already loves Mickey and gets excited to see books and toys that have Mickey. So this was perfect. She meows at Mickey and puts it in her bed at night.
Elora is quite the ham when she wants her picture taken…
More posing in her new outfit.
Marion likes the Minnie Mouse ears too. But mostly she is just happy that Daddy is back home.
Elora and Oliver have been playing pirates lately. This is their ship. Oliver is steering and they are off on an adventure. Elora even has her pirate jammies on for the trip.
She also likes to use my sweater as her pirate cape. I had to finally put it up because she kept stealing it and wearing it all tied around her everyday…
We got cards in the mail from Grandma for Halloween. Marion was happy to have her own mail to open. She didn’t really care about the card once she got to that part, but she sure liked ripping the envelope.
We turned on one of Oliver’s favorite Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concerts, and his sword became a violin for the duration of the concert. It is so funny to watch him, sometimes his sword is also a flute, and he has now started playing the trombone.
