Stuff We Do At Home

This is a random collection of pictures that I have taken around the house the last few weeks. Our kids are such goobers. I love it.

Here is Oliver’s new hat. He went to his room to get dressed and came out looking so handsome in his R2-D2 shirt and dapper hat. It is once again, a favorite because he likes being told he is handsome and cute. He gets a lot of compliments when he wears this hat.

And here is Marion in Daddy’s new hat. Chris is getting beanie samples right now and Marion likes to put them on and make cute faces at the camera.

Elora drew this great picture on our stairs. Here is how she described it to me. The top stair is the sun. The next one is the beautiful blue sky. The next one is a picture of our family and some extra people. We are all very happy. Next down there is a beautiful big purple fancy flower over to the right side. The next one down is some lovely dandelions. (Elora loves dandelions.) They are all nice, small, and yellow. The bottom stair has some sunflowers. There was no brown chalk, so the centers had to be pink instead. I love how Elora decorates every single surface in our yard that we will let her color on (and some that we won’t let her… like the time with the car and the rock carvings… or the drawings on the stucco…)

Elora as soon as she got her fairy wings, went upstairs and put on her leotard, tutu, tights, wings… and ax. She is very excited to be a battling fairy princess for Halloween.

Here is what Marion does while I am gardening. She eats mud. This isn’t even the worst it got… I wish I had taken a picture of later that day…

We get these weeds all over our yard that have pretty purple flowers. Elora LOVES them. And asked me to take her picture with them. Since they are pretty weeds I don’t mind them so much.

Oliver likes to run. With sticks. At least he is outside and not hitting anyone with the sticks…

So we went to make some Kaiserschmarrn… and it turns out some of eggs were frozen. They were like peeling hard boiled eggs except really cold and a different color. So weird. But kind of fun too.

We got lots of pumpkins! So we roasted a whole bunch and made pumpkin soup. And pumpkin muffins. Both were sooooo good. Next up: pumpkin pancakes. More soup. More muffins. And some pie.

Oliver likes to stand at the window and talk to the thunder during storms.

My mom bought us this incredibly loud and annoying hand piano mat. The kids love it. I have already given up on keeping my sanity. There are a lot of musical instruments at our house, and really any noise that is not crying is fine by me!

Marion likes to unload the dishwasher. She is figuring out how things work. She got out a plate and spoon the other day and was pretending to eat. Oliver took this picture of her while she played. Both kids are so talented!

Our mudroom is now enclosed. Maybe one day we will finish it. For now, we are enjoying our new front door and a new baby gate to keep Marion from eating nails and caulk. She likes to come in and pretend she is putting screws in the floor. All our kids just love being big helpers!
