Kebab with Kingsley (Contest Warm-Up)

Chris has been working on his Dutch oven “Cowboy Kebab” so that he could enter the dutch oven cook-off at the Kane County Fair this year. We invited over a friend of ours who has been helping chop our wood (thanks Kingsley!) so he could try out Chris’ recipe.

Kebab! Kebab! Here is Chris slicing his meat. This time he tried using ground turkey from the store in some of his layers.

This kids had a great time eating outside. Oliver still won’t try kebabs, but he enjoyed the homemade yogurt.

Elora and Kingsley, sampling Chris’ Kebabs! They both pronounced it very yummy. Chris was glad to have a chance to warm up his skills, and got a few ideas on how to perfect his recipe for the fair.

We decided to make some cookies too. Oliver thought Marion needed to learn how to lick the bowl.

Marion thought that was pretty yummy stuff, so Oliver helped her eat some more cookie dough. Maybe she shouldn’t eat the stuff, but I love it when Oliver shares with his sister.
