Visiting Buck’s Huge House

So we went up to Provo to stay at Buck’s house for a few days. Buck was also known as Elder Bailey and one of the missionaries we got to know in Vienna. He’s going to UVU in Orem and invited us to stay with him for a few days. His grandparents have a HUGE house up there that they are selling and we got to stay there with all 10,000 square feet, views, and two pools, two saunas, and much much more…

Here is Buck entertaining the kids with his rocket…
We love how everyone is watching in amazement except Elora, who is cowering with fright! So funny. And so Elora…
Elora found this “fancy” apron that Buck brought home from Austria, and we find that it looks disturbingly real in this photo…
Elora LOVED the trampoline in the backyard.
The kids both loved watching Buck jump…
Oliver really liked jumping with Buck holding him, but we finally convinced him to try it on his own. He really loved it when Elora would lay down and he could jump or if he went by himself, but he was not such a fan when Elora would bounce him. Then he would cry and ask to be held again. Sigh.
Great view of Utah Valley out of the amazing full wall of windows… This room was awesome, and since it was mostly empty the kids loved crawling around or playing basketball (we tried to stifle this game as much as possible and get them back to the crawling game…)
There was a fun park near the house that we went to for dinner one night. Oliver was a HUGE fan of the slide. Elora found a little friend and went off exploring in the dirt with him, and when she returned she announced that her new friend was “Braver than a gorilla” which has become one of her favorite sayings. She also invited her friend to Buck’s house, which was really nice of her, because there really was more than enough room.
We bought a bunch of pizza to take to the park. Gotta love Little Caesar’s Hot N’ Ready! I love American pizza, even the substandard kind!
Buck brought up his golf cart. Coby came down to visit us for dinner and hang out for the night, so the kids went joy riding with them. Buck said he let the kids steer some and that was a very interesting experience. Awesome.
Oliver counting for hide and seek. Which let me tell you, that game could go on FOREVER in this house if you didn’t limit which floors people could hide on. Luckily Elora likes to giggle if no one finds her after awhile. We still lost her a couple times inside the house though…
We took a swim in the indoor pool that night. The kids liked the “bubbles” which I think are meant for people to swim laps without going anywhere. It sent the kids flying down to the other end of the pool and they thought that was pretty funny.
Drying off in the sauna…
Oliver playing in the kitchen. Lots of fun counters for the trains to drive on.
Look at this huge kitchen/dining area. Wow… I can’t imagine having to clean a house this big. Or pay for the utilities…
We went up to Park City one night to meet Buck’s parents. Which we didn’t take any pics… but we went to Cold Stone and Oliver was AMAZED by all the candy, he just kept running up and down the candy pointing at everything. I am amazed he ended up with only two toppings.
The kids were extremely pleased with their ice cream. The biggest problem was too many choices! Elora was bummed she couldn’t try everything. We had a great time staying up with Buck for a few days. Maybe we should have asked to stay longer… Hey, and if anyone wants to buy a huge house in Provo, let us know and we’ll pass the word on!
